Critical cardiac equipment needed

You can provide lifesaving equipment for our cardiac patients

Meet Fred, he is a vital piece of equipment needed in the cardiac department. Read on to find out about his vital work.

"Not everybody can say they help save the lives of Victorians every day, but I can. I am a vital and loyal piece of equipment in the cardio surgical department.

My job is truly fascinating; I take ultrasounds of my patient’s heart and provide a high quality image of their heart. Using a special probe I can see the heart chamber sizes, pumping action, valve function and measure the blood flow.

In all honesty, it’s time to make way for the next generation. The NEW machine is fully automated and is safer for both staff and patients because it’s chemical free.  Amazingly, the NEW machine cleans itself in 30 seconds, so the next patient can be seen in less than 2 minutes. This is a dramatic improvement and can be the difference between life and death." Fred (also known as Transesophageal Echocardiogram)

You can help provide this critical monitoring equipment for our cardiac patients by donating today.
