St Vincent’s Hospital Foundation hosted the Wrapped in Kindness Campaign in collaboration with Caulfield Grammar School.
Caulfield Grammar students volunteered their time during the school holidays to pack items generously donated by local and national businesses, for people who are experiencing chronic disadvantage. The packs of warm clothing and toiletries have been distributed across St Vincent’s Hospital patients and to some of Melbourne’s most vulnerable members of our community.
The campaign was generously supported by local and national businesses who donated goods, including underwear, long pants, socks, mittens and toiletries. The amazing number of donated goods we received enabled us to distribute items to other key charities across Victoria as well as to indigenous families in need in Alice Springs.
2020 is the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, but instead of celebrating, our nurses have been on the front line, putting their lives at risk, to keep us all safe.
Our theatre nurses are set to be challenged like never before. Our theatre nurses are a highly skilled and dedicated team, who are critical to the work undertaken by the hospital.
At St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, we have a long history as leaders in the treatment of mental health. Both in our research and practice, including: a 44 bed inpatient unit, a psychiatric Crisis Assessment and Treatment Service and several community-based mental health services.
There has never been more demand than there is right now on our mental health programs, our mental health nurses, our psychologists and psychiatric staff.
Every year the Rehabilitation Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital treats hundreds of patients suffering from life-changing symptoms following a major stroke.
Many of our patients require months of physiotherapy and rehabilitative treatment before they are well enough to go home.
Please show your support for the patients who have suffered a stroke by sending a Gift for Hope today.
