Include a Gift in your Will

Leave a legacy of excellent and compassionate care

Your support transforms lives

Gifts in Wills profoundly impact the lives of many

Philanthropy has always been at the heart of St Vincent’s, and we are extremely grateful for it. The kindness from individuals like you enhances patient care, fuels ground-breaking medical research, and provides ongoing education opportunities for our dedicated nurses and medical staff for over 130 years.

A Gift in your Will is more than a donation, it is an enduring legacy that will save lives

All gifts, large or small, will have a meaningful impact on the care we provide. Your generosity will support our mission to provide excellent care to every person in need, whoever and wherever they are, and will help deliver much-needed services to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

How to leave a Gift to St Vincent's

Leaving a Gift in your Will, no matter how large or small, is a wonderful way of supporting the causes you care about without any current expense. For many of us, the scale of the positive impact we would like to create within our community may only be achievable through a future gift in our Will - and the scale of that impact can be enormous!

It’s simple to include a Gift in your Will. All your solicitor needs is our ABN 22 052 110 755 and registered name: St Vincent’s Foundation Victoria.

You can include a bequest when making your Will or add one to your existing Will. You should seek legal advice to ensure your choices are properly reflected either way.

What type of Gift can I leave?

After you have taken care of your loved ones, there are several ways to leave a Gift in your Will to support St Vincent’s. These include:

Residual Gift. A residual Gift has the greatest impact in the future. After specific gifts and expenses have been taken care of, you can make a gift of the residue of your Estate, or a percentage of the residue to St Vincent’s.

Whole or part of your estate. You may choose to gift your entire estate or any portion of it.

A specific sum or asset. You may prefer to nominate a specific sum of money, or assets such as shares, investments, real estate or artwork.

Please contact us to discuss how we can best realise your wishes and align your intentions with the areas of St Vincent’s that matter most to you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What will my Gift be used for?

add remove

A gift for general purposes will allow us to use it where it is needed most. We will use your generous gift wisely, to ensure it will have the greatest impact for our patients and the future of healthcare.

Alternatively, you can direct where your Gift in Will can have an impact, and we will always respect your wishes and intention of your gift.

What if I have already written my Will?

add remove

Your Will is a record of your wishes at a particular point in time. It is advisable to regularly review your Will, especially when circumstances change so that it accurately reflects your current wishes.

If your current Will still reflects most of your wishes, and you just want to make small additions or changes, your solicitor can help you create a codicil (an addition or supplement that explains, modifies, or revokes a Will or part of one). It’s important to consult your solicitor to ensure the original Will is not affected.

Do I need to tell you if I’ve included St Vincent’s in my Will?

add remove

This is entirely up to you. However, if you have chosen to support us in this very generous and personal way, we would be delighted to hear from you so we can understand your wishes.

We would also love to keep you updated on our work, and most importantly, to thank you personally for your kind support.
