Fitness Passport supports staff wellbeing event

23 Nov 2023

St Vincent’s Foundation corporate partner, Fitness Passport, has supported the second ever staff wellbeing, ‘Shake It Off’ event.

Fitness Passport is a corporate health and fitness program that provides its members and their families with access to a wide choice of fitness facilities close to their home and work. Sylvia Fryer, Fitness Passport Partnership Manager said, “Fitness Passport is delighted to support this wonderful wellbeing event for the staff of St Vincent’s Hospitals. Our aim is to consistently align with initiatives and platforms that promote physical activity and wellness, thereby enhancing joy and bolstering mental wellbeing among St Vincent's staff.”

St Vincent’s Private Hospital’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) Team held the inaugural staff wellbeing, ‘Shake It Off’ event in September. It was such a hit that the WHS team decided to expand the event to include St Vincent’s public staff as well.

The ‘Shake It Off’ event was hosted by radio host and author Amber Petty and featured Guest Speaker, Yoga, Wellness and Mindfulness Leader and Melbourne Real Housewife, Cherry Dipietrantonio. It was an uplifting evening, enjoyed by all the staff who attended.

Here is what some St Vincent’s staff members said about the wellbeing evening….

“The event was intimate, a breath of fresh air and much appreciated. The venue was stunning. I loved the flowers and candlelight. I really liked having Cherry talk to us and go through some simple, yet effective breath exercises, and Amber reading a chapter from her book was interesting, especially how she related it to nurses and their uniform!” - Tara Noonan SVPHM

“The staff wellbeing event was special, enriching, and informative. It was a unique and rewarding self-care opportunity - a chance for reflection in a beautiful space. I loved the welcoming venue, a “feast for the senses” – beautiful flowers, food, and refreshments. The engaging speakers brought their personal experiences of challenge and gave us helpful strategies for growth and enhanced wellbeing. It was lovely to share a special connecting event between our sister hospital staff community.” - Jacqui Bloink SVHM

RU OK Day and now Shake It Off are great examples of how our corporate partners can support the health and wellbeing of staff across our public and private hospital networks.”
