St Vincent’s Foundation raises funds to support the vital work of the network of St Vincent's hospitals and health services across Victoria.
The generous support of individuals, community groups, staff and businesses enables the funding of new equipment, infrastructure, research innovation and improved patient health care. As well as the education of our next generation of medical staff.

We can provide:
Sensitive support for grateful patients – Patients or family members often feel a desire to do something ‘incredible’ to show their appreciation. The St Vincent’s Foundation team are highly experienced at nurturing these important relationships. We ensure donors receive the correct tax deductable documents as well as regular updates about the great work being done at the hospital. We also maintain comprehensive records of all communication and ongoing contact with all our donors.
Brochures and donation envelopes – The Foundation produces a variety of brochures about key capital projects such as the ACMD project, the Caritas Christi redevelopment. We also produce a newsletter. Donation forms and envelopes are also available from the Foundation Office.
Philanthropic grant applications - The Foundation has staff members who are dedicated to working with teams to source grant opportunities from Trusts & Foundations and Corporates. They assist St Vincent’s Departments and staff with securing funds for research, equipment or clinical projects. This includes identifying funding sources, preparing applications, proofing/editing, administration of grant funding and writing funding reports.

Which areas of St Vincent’s does the Foundation raise money for?
St Vincent’s Foundation raises funds to support the vital work of the network of St Vincent's public and private hospitals across Victoria. We also raise funds for major capital projects including the Caritas Christi re-development and for ACMD.
Why does St Vincent’s Hospital have to fundraise?
Our government funding provides for the essential items required to run a hospital. Through our shared fundraising and philanthropy efforts, we are able to purchase much needed additional equipment or services, which our government funding does not always stretch to cover.
When will we receive the funds raised?
Funds raised are dispersed on a monthly basis with any donation made in support of a specific purpose being transferred to the relevant departments Special Purpose Fund.
If I wish to raise money for my ward/department do I require Authority to do so?
Yes, by law, a Victorian fundraiser must have an Authority to Fundraise letter. St Vincent’s will issue this letter (sanction) once the application/event registration has been received and approved. Please note St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne will not approve any high-risk activity.
What do I do if I have a fundraising idea?
In the first instance contact a member of the Foundation Team to talk through your idea. We’re always appreciative of any fundraising efforts which will benefit our hospital and are keen to support you in any way we can.
