The Symani Surgical System

The Symani Surgical System is a next-generation robotic platform inspired by the natural motion of the human wrist. It offers surgeons enhanced precision and control, enabling them to perform complex microsurgical procedures with greater accuracy in hard-to-reach areas – reducing patient recovery times and redefining modern surgery.
“Having the Symani means we can conduct lifechanging procedures that aren’t possible with traditional instruments. Patients with a diabetic foot can keep their foot, or someone who loses a fingertip can have it reattached.” Dr Eldon Mah, Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Project Team Lead.
Apheresis System for the Cancer Centre

This machine is used to collect stem cells for life-saving transplants and more recently for the latest Car-T cell therapies. They are also used to remove and replace plasma for certain auto immune conditions, helping to maintain patient’s quality of life. The current machine is approaching the end of its life. The latest machines will help to maintain the highest standards our patients experience and expect.
Dynamic Air Chair

The Allied Health team at St Vincent's Private Melbourne has requested three Dynamic Air Chairs (known as “princess chairs”). The chairs are designed to support and comfort people experiencing pain or mobility issues while in hospital.
The chairs come with a tubular steel frame and a manually operated reclining backrest and adjustable leg rest. The seating component consists of a combination of air and foam with a four-way stretch cover.
With your support, St Vincent’s will purchase these urgently needed chairs, and patients will have safer and more comfortable experience while in Hospital.
Chemotherapy chairs for the Cancer Centre

The Cancer Centre at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne provides day infusion to hundreds of patients each year. Cancer patients require comfortable chairs because they need to sit for long periods of time to receive their treatments. These chairs are critical to good patient care but become worn out. The Cancer Centre is looking to replace two of the chemotherapy chairs so their patients can be as comfortable as possible.
Minus 80 degree freezer for Neurology

The Neurology team at St Vincent’s undertake considerable amounts of research to ensure that patients with neurological conditions have brighter futures. Our leading neurology researcher has requested an 80-degree freezer to store spinal fluid for her critical research.
Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit monitors

Staff have requested new Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) monitors as the old ones come to the end of their lives.
Day-surgery patients often receive nerve blocks to improve post-surgery recovery time and pain management. PACU monitors are essential to patient care. They monitor patient’s vitals pre-surgery once they have received the pain blocker, allowing for enhanced post-surgical care and improved patient safety.
Epen set for jaw and hand plastic surgery
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Kew

Staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Kew have requested an Epen set, an electrically-powered system, to perform jaw misalignment and hand plastic surgery. Jaw misalignment and not having full hand function often results in pain and reduced quality of life. This equipment will enable St Vincent’s to offer more maxillofacial and plastics surgery at St Vincent’s Kew to improve patient outcomes.
