Generous donation for vulnerable patients

23 Aug 2021

Clothing company, UNIQLO, have donated 1,500 HEATTECH tops valued at over $29,500 to St Vincent’s for our most vulnerable patients.

HEATTECH is a revolutionary innerwear that works with your body to generate heat and retain it – suitable to keep you warm in colder climates.

St Vincent’s Foundation was selected as one of three charity partners to receive donations of the HEATECH t-shirts resulting from public support from a recent UNIQLO HEATTECH ‘Hot or Cold’ Virtual Event.

Participants of the ‘Hot or Cold’ Virtual Event were given the opportunity to gift a HEATTECH clothing item to St Vincent’s Foundation as their charity of choice. Support from participants resulted in 1,500 items of HEATTECH items being donated to St Vincent’s.

The generous donation of clothing is being distributed across our hospital network to support some of our most vulnerable and disadvantaged patients.

Judy Clover, Manager of Volunteer Services was extremely grateful for the donation. “These tops and other clothing and toiletries lifts the spirits of those who have very little and restores their dignity and boosts their self-esteem. Thank you UNIQLO for helping keep this wonderful initiative going.”

Kensuke Suwa, UNIQLO Australia Chief Operating Officer said of the initiative, “Our focus in 2020 during the peak of COVID-19 was on assisting Australian frontline workers wherever we could through the donation of medical masks, but with our three charity partners this year, we truly hope that local, at-risk communities will be able to benefit from the warmth provided by our HEATTECH shirts.”
