Going virtual to Run Melbourne

02 Aug 2021

The cancellation of the Run Melbourne didn’t stop Prague House Health Care Worker, Ciera Dunne, from completing the event to fundraise for St Vincent’s. She and her partner went ‘virtual’. They physically ran 10km around Balaclava, recording their run, time and distance on the Strava app: https://strava.app.link/aYpWcIlg9hb

Ciera Dunne, is currently on a working holiday visa, visiting us from Kilkenny in Ireland. She has been in Australia for 2 years.

“Since I came to Australia I have found a new love for running and this started at the beginning of COVID. In my spare time I also play camogie (the name given to hurling for females) – which is an Irish sport – and one of the fastest contact sports in the world. I have played camogie since I could walk.

“I chose to raise money for St Vincent’s because I have been working at Prague House for the past 18 months and love working there. I love the variety of the work. The residents ensure no two days are the same. It is challenging but also very rewarding,” Ciera said.
