New podcast profiles key St Vincent’s women

21 Sep 2022

The Genazzano Institute has launched a new podcast series – She Knows It. The project is part of an exciting new collaboration between the Genazzano Institute and St Vincent’s Foundation which aims to promote women working in Health, Science, Engineering and Medicine.

The She Knows It podcast is a vibrant, student led resource featuring women who work in various roles at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. The podcast celebrates the work and careers of women who work in STEM and Health, to dispute stereotypes and explore the challenges and rewards women experience throughout their careers.

The host of the podcast, Anastazia Drake, is a Year 12 Genazzano student. During the podcast series, she asks practical questions to learn about the day-to-day activities involved in different occupations; and adeptly highlights the personal attributes and successes of the women in these roles.

The project is an initiative of the Genazzano Institute and The Sisterhood of St Vincent’s Foundation; and is offered as an enterprise activity through one of the College’s Centres of Excellence – STEM & Enterprise.

Rebecca MacFarling, Deputy Director of St Vincent’s Foundation said, “We are thrilled to be working with the Genazzano Institute on this project to support and promote the amazing work of women at St Vincent’s Hospital,”

“We hope the podcast will provide an accessible platform for young people to learn more about careers in health.”

She Knows It, Episode 1, features Dr Helen Frazer, 2022 Winner of Women in AI Innovator of the Year.
