Toys bring joy to St Vincent’s smallest patients

07 Dec 2023

A donation of soft toys from Bakers Delight has been welcomed by children and staff from the kids wards at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, East Melbourne.

Rebecca Passater, Baker's Delight Campaign Coordinator said, “The soft toys which we donated are called ‘Fun Bun Friends’, which were created to support our annual Pink Bun Campaign. Once the campaign had finished up, we began thinking about ways we could donate the extras, and reached out to St Vincent's to see if these could be something that the Children’s ward would love.’

Carrie Thomas, St Vincent’s Kids Ward Nurse Unit Manager says, “When we were offered the Fun Bun Friends, we jumped at the opportunity. Being in hospital can be scary, even for adults. Caring for our smallest patient is what makes our job so special. The Fun Bun Friends have been a big hit, providing a welcome distraction for the children in our care.”

Rebecca said, “‘It’s so great to hear that the Fun Bun Friends continue to live on, and we love to see that they are being enjoyed by the children at St Vincent's."
