Essential items for vulnerable patients

09 Jul 2020

Students from Caulfield Grammar School took time out from their school holidays to assist with packing necessary items generously donated by local and national businesses. The packs of warm clothing and toiletries will be distributed to St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne’s most vulnerable patients.

St Vincent’s frontline staff have witnessed first-hand the impact the coronavirus lockdown is having on at-risk patients. There have been rising rates of chronic illness, isolation, domestic violence, mental health issues and people facing economic hardship. As well as medical and emotional care, the most at risk patients desperately need practical support.

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne CEO Angela Nolan attended the event to thank everybody who contributed to the Winter Appeal.

"The Winter Appeal is so very important for the vulnerable patient groups that we serve. We are deeply appreciative of every organisation who have donated goods, to the committee, students and teachers who all gave up their time to help," Angela said.

The packs are being distributed to patients who are in need of these essential items.

We wish to thank the following organisations for their support: AFI Branding, And1 Australia, Australian Defence Force, Big W, Caulfield Grammar School, Park Hyatt Melbourne, Peter Sheppard Footwear, Pinchapoo, Qantas Airways Limited, Reddrop Group, SOJO Pty Ltd, Starcorp Textiles Pty Ltd, Williamson's Foodworks.
