INSIDE ST VINCENT'S

25 Years of Transforming Epilepsy Care

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a special evening celebrating 25 years of epilepsy care at St Vincent's.

Hosted by Matt Preston, the event brought together supporters, clinicians and researchers to reflect on the progress made possible through philanthropy and explored the future of epilepsy care.

Guests heard from our Chief Medical Officer, expert Neurology clinicians and former patient Danni – who shared her remarkable and inspiring story of how St Vincent's helped her to live ‘seizure-free’.

We are delighted to share a selection of video highlights and photographs from the evening.

Bringing together supporters, clinicians and researchers

One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity for supporters, clinicians, researchers and the St Vincent's Foundation Victoria team to connect and discuss the future of neurology and epilepsy care.

These moments of engagement strengthen the partnerships that make world-leading patient care, research and innovation possible.

For more than 25 years, philanthropy has helped advance epilepsy care at St Vincent’s. This year’s Tax Appeal is raising funds for vital equipment and technology to support patients living with neurological conditions such as epilepsy.

Insights from our experts

Guests heard from a distinguished group of speakers who shared their perspectives on the past, present and future of epilepsy care at St Vincent's. Trevor Dean from St Vincent's Foundation welcomed guests and reflected on the importance of philanthropy in supporting life-changing care, while our Chief Medical Officer, Dr Antony Tobin highlighted St Vincent's commitment to clinical excellence, innovation and research.

Matt Preston brought warmth and emotion sharing his family's personal connection to epilepsy before facilitating an engaging discussion on the advances transforming epilepsy diagnosis, treatment and patient outcomes with panellists Director of Neurosciences, Professor Mark Cook AO; Neurologist, Dr Amy Halliday; and Neurosurgeon, Kristian Bulluss.

Danni's story: a second chance at life

One of the most moving moments of the evening was Danni’s story. After years of severe epilepsy, specialist care at St Vincent’s helped identify the cause of her seizures and led to life-changing surgery.

Today, Danni is seizure-free and enjoying a renewed sense of independence. Her story is the focus of this year’s Tax Appeal, raising funds for vital equipment to support the Neurology team and helping more patients access life-changing care.

Help change the lives of more patients like Danni.
