ACMD world-first research in the media

08 Jun 2021

Natalie Booth has been seizure-free for two years thanks to innovative treatment being developed by St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne through ACMD.

The world-first epilepsy project conducted in conjunction with Cerebral Therapeutics and led by Professor Mark Cook sees anti-seizure medication delivered directly to the brain via a long-term abdominal pump implant to treat drug-resistant focal seizures.

Channel 7’s The House of Wellness featured the story on International Epilepsy Day on Friday 26th March.
