The Impact of Giving

Community support and generosity have been central to the story of St Vincent’s Hospitals since our beginnings as a small cottage hospital, established by the Sisters of Charity in Fitzroy in 1893.

St Vincent’s Foundation Victoria provides funds for St Vincent’s public and private hospitals, Caritas Christi Palliative Care Services as well as new and innovative developments. These include the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery (ACMD), and the world-class redevelopment project being undertaken at St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Fitzroy.

The generosity of individuals, patients, families, community groups, staff and businesses enable the funding of new equipment, infrastructure, research innovation, improved patient health care, and the education of our next generation of medical staff.
