Don’t leave home without it!

22 Jul 2020

The wearing of masks is mandatory across Greater Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire from 11.59 PM on Wednesday 23rd July. This measure is all about saving and protecting lives!

We now know masks play a vital role in stabilising increases to COVID-19 positive numbers. Evidence from overseas show that facemasks do make a difference, reducing transmission by as much as two-thirds.

Based on the latest advice from the Chief Health Officer, all Victorians are being urged: just as you remember to take your keys when you leave the house, you need to remember to take something to cover your face – to help keep you and our community safe.

We very much want to see this measure working, to not only avoid the harsher stage four restrictions, but to ensure we can manage the numbers of people who need our help.
