The 2022 Werribee Winter Ball was a resounding success, smashing previous year’s targets to raise $92,000 for St Vincent’s Werribee Private Hospital.
Support from the Werribee community has seen the amount raised from the popular event rise exponentially. In 2018, $18,000 was raised, this grew to $24,000 in 2019 and after a two-year hiatus, over $100,000 was raised at the 2022 event.
These vital funds will enable a scalp cooling cap system to be purchased for patients undergoing chemotherapy. They will also go towards expanding the hospital’s day oncology services to meet the growing demand, ensuring patients can continue to receive the treatment they need, close to home.
Over 130 beautifully dressed guests enjoyed a fun night of delicious Italian food and wine and plenty of dancing.
The evening was filled with many special moments as key people from Werribee Private Hospital’s leadership and Committee shared moving tributes and stories, inspiring an outpouring of generosity from event guests.
Special guest, Patrina Jones, Newsreader for The Christian O’Connell Show on GOLD104.3, said, “The generosity and community spirit of people never fails to amaze me.”
One of the major highlights of the night was the exceptionally generous $50,000 pledge made by Werribee Committee member, Adrian and Amanda Williams towards the relocation and expansion of the day oncology ward.
Julie Wain, St Vincent's Mission Integration Manager, aptly summed up Adrian and Amanda’s generosity. “You are true champions. We are proud, honoured and privileged to have you partner with us.”
