St Vincent’s Private Fitzroy celebrated their partnership with the Gidget Foundation by hosting an official opening of a new Gidget House on-site at the hospital.The Hon Daniel Andrews MP, Premier of Victoria kindly attended the opening, welcoming the service for expectant and new parents to Melbourne.
One in five new mums and one in ten new dads experience perinatal depression and anxiety during the perinatal period. Gidget House psychologists offer free individual counselling services to assist families through their journey into early parenthood.
The Gidget House located at St Vincent’s Private Fitzroy started operating via telehealth in August 2021. The launch marks the official opening and return to face-to-face appointments with 250 consultations already delivered online. The collaboration reinforces St Vincent’s commitment to further support mental health and emotional well-being of our maternity patients.
