Help the St Vincent’s ICU teams

save more lives like Gabi’s.

Gabi’s Story

When Gabi was only 23 years old, she noticed her legs started to feel strange...

…soon after she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare autoimmune condition that causes a person’s immune system to attack their peripheral nerves causing muscle paralysis.

In rare cases, like Gabi’s, it is life-threatening.

“I remember I couldn’t breathe. I was really struggling. They told me they were going to have to put me in an induced coma. Two weeks later, I woke up in ICU.”

Gabi spent 63 days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

When a patient like Gabi is rushed into St Vincent’s ICU, they receive next-level patient care, to help not only save their life but also support them in their recovery.

Our ICU teams always go above and beyond to help their patients survive and heal.

“I don’t think people understand how sick you have to be, to be in ICU, and how much care sick people need. I couldn’t imagine resources being more important for a group of people.” Gabi shared.

Please, will you Donate Now to help give our ICU teams the specialist equipment they need to continue to give their patients the best care?
